The Primary Day School sits just a few miles from our nation’s capital.
Our students experience the rich history and history that Washington, D.C., has to offer by visiting places like the National Building Museum, the Smithsoninian’s vast collection of museums and the National zoo, monuments, and more!
This enhances our social studies curriculum by making powerful, meaningful connections in our very own backyard.
Our students read maps and learn why geography matters. We integrate music and the arts, and that combination translates into hands-on learning through celebrations, student and family presentations, visiting authors, and other guest speakers.
Project-based learning activities encourage our students to direct some of their own learning, develop critical thinking and collaboration skills, solve real-life problems, all while gaining a deeper understanding of subject matter.
